Have you heard about Crossfit?

photo: Kirk Gibson of Smashletics CrossFit

CrossFit workouts incorporate elements from high-intensity interval training, Olympic weightlifting, plyometrics, powerlifting, gymnastics, girevoy sport, calisthenics, strongman and other exercises. Crossfitting is not a typical exercise that others usually do when they are in the gym. It tests the limits of what you can do because of its programs that are pretty harsh. Normally, crossfit is applied by police academies, tactical and military operations, martial arts professionals and many athletes around the world; and even terrorists they use crossfit routines on their training too.

Today, crossfit has become part of the fashion. Many people are interested to try such brutal but beneficial fitness activity. Many office workers want to try this type of exercise after their work. Many students from different schools and universities are also hooked to this extraordinary exercise and making it as part of their lifestyles. In addition, crossfit workout is not only limited to adult enthusiasts only. Many of the young kids, right now, are captivated to this fitness activity too because aside from the physical and mental benefits they can get, a gym can be a good place for meeting new good friends too.

Apart from the benefit that it can offer, like toning your muscles, crossfit can be a stress reliever too because it requires you to stay focus whenever you perform crossfit workout. You need to free yourself from many things that bother you in order to avoid accidents. Try to imagine, how you would lift too much weights of barbells if you are out of your mind. Of course, crossfit promotes fitness not accidents; focus is vital.

Many of crossfit gyms right now can be found in US and mostly run by athletes. Crossfit is one of the fast growing trends in US and adapted by many countries, like Philippines, to date. Many people around the world are now hooked to the benefits of crossfit training that focuses primarily on physical and mental. Further, aside from physical and mental advantages, many enthusiasts who joined crossfit have become well-disciplined in all aspect of their lives.

Difference between CS and IT

A lot of people are asking “what is the difference between Computer Science and Information Technology.” Both two contexts are associated with computer hardware, software network and the like. Even CS and IT graduates can hardly differentiate between the two. When they are asked in a job interview about the difference between CS and IT, most of their answers are the same: “no difference at all.” It is actually a big problem for a CS/IT applicant, if he or she cannot answer this simple question during job interview. This can be an indication that he or she might not be qualified for the job he or she is applying to.

Computer Science and Information Technology are not the same. Computer Science covers the theoretical studies of algorithms and computations including its applications. In other words, CS gives focus to logical and mathematical aspects of computing. The underlying question in this discipline is “What can be automated?” This means that, aside from computations, it also responds to the questions of what are the resources needed in order to run what has been computed. Application Software Developer, Web Developer and System Engineer are the possible careers in CS.

On the other hand, Information technology involves the application of what computer scientists did in order to store, retrieve, modify and network data. It manages information in a most convenient way. They create a database, a container of all information, to organize information quickly. This tool also helps them to eliminate redundant data which is common in a paper-pen type system. In addition, since technology is in the grasp of IT, it is also associated with Internet. Information Technologists manage networks too. The possible careers in IT are Computer Database Administration, Network Administration, Security Analyst of Information, Technical Support and the like.

Computer Science and Information technology started decades ago, but a lot of people still don’t know what the difference is, between the two. Even some professionals of these fields cannot distinguish the two contexts. For better understanding, let us put this way: Computer Science professionals are like electricians who put lights and set up appliances in the house, while IT professionals are those people who live in the house and use these appliances for a desired result.

How to Get Good Grades in Class

In today’s generation, millions of students are hooked to social networking  sites – web platforms that allow to connect and share to other people around the planet. It cannot be denied that these websites have taken big  part of every student’s lifestyle. From early morning they wake-up until they go to their beds, they want to be updated on what is happening around social media.

Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and the like provide huge benefits to all mankind. Many of us are able to know what is happening around us such as updates in typhoons, floods, scandals, health issues, politics and etc. Also, these social sites allow to market businesses or promote campaigns; however, they, too, have disadvantage effects especially to students.

Many of learners today are greatly affected by these social networking sites in terms of getting good grades in class. In my interview to 20 college students, all of them agreed that they sometimes fail to pass exams because they spend too much time with these sites instead of studying  their lessons.

In this blog, I wanna share how to get good grades in class in this modern time. Below are some simple tips that will surely help you.

1.       Attend Classes Regularly

Think that attending the class regulary is an obligation. Avoid sleeping too late at night so  you wont feel sleepy when waking up early. (In fact, this technique is often overlooked.) #ATTENDCLASSES

2.       Keep Away your Gadgets when Studying

When inside the class or studying your lessons, put away your gadgets. I know many of you are using smart phones for course subjects that need calculations, but I discourage you to this style. Why? FB, Twitter, IG and the like are just one click away.#KEEPAWAY

3.       Control your Time Usage

Social networking sites are not bad but there should be a sense of  control every time you use them. Also, I wanna remind you that these platforms are not your diaries that need to be updated every now and then.  So please, stop spending too much time on these.#CONTROL

4.       Avoid being FAME-WHORE

What is a fame whore? A person who keeps on updating their social profiles every now and then, regardless of how humiliating or demeaning, to get the attention of others. #FAMEWHORE

5.       Be Goal Oriented

Be responsible enough as a student. Have focus to what is your target. Remember, your parents send you to school to learn things for your future career. Always remember that. #GOALORIENTED

I hope this blog helps you.

How to Cheat PCSO Lottery

Have you tried playing lottery and never won even for once? Did you ever think how to cheat it?

A lot of people are hooked on lottery, a kind of gambling that involves random drawing of lots for rewards. Many people still hope that there is a chance of winning in playing lottery. They don’t even think that the possibility of winning is very minimal compared to the possibility of losing. Conversely, there are some people who are aware that lottery is totally not a fair game but, since everyone wants to be instant millionaire, the total number who participate the said game is countless.

In the Philippines, Lottery has been part of the lifestyle by most of the Filipinos. This signifies that a lot of people in the country are relying much their luck to gambling. One of highest paying lottery in the Philippines is the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office Super 6/49 Lotto. It needs 6 digits from 1 to 49 numbers for one combination and in order to win millions of pesos.

Mathematically, if a combination has 6 digits out of 49, the chance of winning is 1/13983816 (derived from 49C6). In other words, there are 13983816 possible combinations in every play, making most of the statisticians do not play lottery for its chance to win is very small over the chance to loss.

A lot of people are asking how to cheat the said game but up to now, there is NO study that says PCSO lottery can be cheated. The selection of 6 digits is randomly drawn, meaning, it can never be guessed by anyone.

Now, if you are thinking on how to avoid losing the game, the best thing to do is to quit playing. Lottery can cost thousands, if you are betting every day. Remember, there are 13983816 combinations per game. But who knows, luck is like lottery too. It cannot be presumed. If your combination wins, you would have hard time to think how to spend your money for sure.

The Meaning of 444

Have you ever noticed that each time you look at the clock, the time is either 4:44 AM or 4:44 PM? Its weird, but I always have that experience. I keep on asking my friends, "what is the meaning of 444?", but they too, don't know the answer. I know there is a meaning of this because my experience with it is not usual. I usually sleep with my phone on my side, and most of the time I wake up at 4:44 AM on my phone's clock. I am actually not using an alarm, but I can feel that someone is waking me up at that time.

Last night, my phone was out of the battery. I thought I can't experience that strange time. This morning, from my bed, I rushed to the toilet because I really wanted to pee. When I went back to my room, I noticed that the wall clock stroked at 4:44 AM. It was really weird.

This afternoon, I spent the whole time watching TV. Because I don’t want to bother myself with that strange time, I pulled off the wall clock in our living room and putted it inside the cabinet upside down. All of the sudden, a random number messaged me on my phone. I actually didn't mind the message since it was an invitation for a job interview. I knew I don’t need it since I have a good job at the moment. When I opened my phone back after an hour or more, I noticed that the message was received at 4:44 PM.

I really don’t know the meaning of these numbers. It makes me paranoid. Can someone tell me “what’s the meaning of 444? “

PHP Basic Concepts: Flag-like

Someone asked me, how to code this flag-like image. So, here is the code. I hope the sample script helps.

Note: These materials are used for basic web programming class of AMACDO, section A3/B3.

PHP Basic Concepts Part1: Binary and Multiplication Table

These sample programs were coded using PHP scripts. If-Else statement and Looping statements were applied to these samples.

The first sample program used binary concepts; that all odds have a value of 1 and 0 for evens. In order to get this easily, use  modulus.

The second sample program used multiplication table concepts. The codes applied table tag of html for alignment purposes.

HOT TOPIC: NAPOLES LIST REVEALED, LACSON'S COPY

(UPDATED 6:32 p.m.) A total of 80 lawmakers, past and present, were in Senator Panfilo Lacson’s version of the list of names alleged mastermind Janet Napoles linked to the pork barrel scandal.

Aside from Senators Bong Revilla, Jinggoy Estrada and Juan Ponce Enrile, against whom charges are being pushed, the full list also included Malacanang allies.

Tagged in the so-called “Napoles list” are Senators Francis Escudero, Loren Legarda, Alan Peter Cayetano, Manny Villar, Koko Pimentel, who ran under the administration banned in polls.

More opposition senators were also in the list, including Senators JV Ejercito (as San Juan representative), Tito Sotto and Gringo Honasan. Ex-senator Robert Barbers was also in the list.
Budget Secretary Butch Abad was included in the roster as a member of Congress. Prior to his stint in the Cabinet, Abad sat as Batanes representative.

Lacson, now presidential assistant for rehabilitation and recovery, said he obtained the list from Napoles’ husband Jaime. It is only one of several versions of such a list.

Justice Secretary Leila De Lima has another list, which Napoles herself revealed to her in an affidavit. The Justice chief has yet to make public her version of the Napoles list.

The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee on Monday issued a subpoena for De Lima to disclose the list, amid rumors of efforts to “sanitize” the list of administration allies.

Aside from senators, 68 congressmen are also in Lacson’s version of the Napoles list. More prominent names included that of Mikey Arroyo, Iggy Arroyo, former Customs chief Ruffy Biazon and TESDA chief Joel Villanueva.

Officials from the Agriculture and Agrarian Reform departments, the National Livelihood Development Corp. and the Technology Resource Center were also named.

Missing from the Napoles list, however, is Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, who Lacson earlier tagged in the pork barrel scandal.

Santiago earlier slammed Lacson, who she said is acting as “attack dog” for Senator Juan Ponce Enrile. The senator added that she has never dealt with Napoles.

Abad also denied his involvement, saying, “I find it amusing, if not outright revolting, that I am once again in the crosshairs of those who want the Aquino Administration to fall.”
